Convoluted Substances

  • A dynamic array of remixes of samples from Dave Skipper's psychedelic debut album Essence.

Predominantly in drum'n'bass stylings but also spanning techno, rock guitar and breakbeat/downbeat, this album features fresh tunes from various artists including the legendary alien techno pioneers Eat Static and ex-Ozrics bassist Zia as zubzub.

This collection sounds nothing like Essence (though of course is strongly reminiscent with the heavy use of samples therefrom), and indeed nothing like most things you've probably listened to.

Specially-commissioned artwork for this project (by Chris Cox) focussed on the adventures of the intrepid (worm?) Dr.Dart, with poster insert.

Digital album features all the original album artwork along with a large amount of unused and alternative draft album artworks.
